Real life takes over online social one
I believe that if u have an active ‘real’ life, it’s hard to maintain an active on-line social one . . . In fact, business and children prevent an active social life full stop.
And with so many online social networks out there how do you maintain them all without the complete replication of information? There are apps to manage your BlackBerry status to become your Twitter status and your Facebook update and, your Instragram post can easily become your latest tweet . . . But do your followers want to read about ‘your wonderful day at the park’ five times throughout the day?
That being said; I do have a online social life . . . But it’s more of a footprint to say “I’m here!”. It’s not maintained the way it should be to be as productive as I’d like but social networking has proven productive at times, with Twitter bearing the best fruit.
In our ‘real’ lives we keep our social circles separate. Work, family & associates don’t usually mix, but Facebook proved to be a place for me where they all mixed and I couldn’t take the headache and complications . . . So Facebook had to go. Getting off there wasn’t an easy process, once your on Facebook your a friend for life lol. I’ve been off there a couple of years snd I still get emails saying people want me to write on their wall.
