London and back?
Last year for the Tahlia Banks Award I did the Birmingham 10k run, the Birmingham Bikeathon 100 miles and rode from London to Rotterdam, Amsterdam then to Brussels.
I was planning to do a ride in Sweden – 300km in 24 hours, but due to fear of racism I’m looking for an alternative. I need something that will challenge me more than London to Brussels. Someone mentioned ‘John O’Groats (Top of Scotland) to Land’s End (Bottom of England), but that is 17 days riding. .. . It’s too long for me! I’m considering riding from Birmingham to London and back in 48 hours. That’s approx 260 miles in 2 days. That’s more than they do in the Tour De France legs!
I will also be doing the Birmingham 10k run (and beating last year’s time!), I plan doing the Coventry Bikeathon, there is a horrible ride called ‘The Shropshire Challenge – 65 miles and over 13,000 feet of hills’ I will be doing, plus taking on Mount Snowden again! amongst over rides and sportives.
I want to check if there are any further challenges that may be better suited, so watch this space!
